Key Responsibilities

RISE Logistics is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Director of Dispensary Sales for the State of California. The Director of Dispensary Sales will lead a statewide team of dispensary consultants, focused on providing amazing products and support to our dispensary partnership.  This position reports directly to the VP of California Revenue, and is responsible for the company’s dispensary and shelf-space penetration. The Director will help shape the sales team, provide day-to-day support to dispensary consultants, and help craft the strategic direction of the sales organization

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to a statewide team of dispensary consultants
  • Provide continuous training and sales support to the dispensary sales-team
  • Act as an internal advocate for dispensary customers and the sales team
  • Craft and implement the strategic direction of Herban’s dispensary sales program
  • Develop and own weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals and KPIs for the entire dispensary sales team
  • Work closely with the business development and purchasing team, to craft a portfolio offering of world-class cannabis products
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Herban’s top dispensary partners
  • Implement ongoing ‘surprise and delight’ campaigns with Herban’s partners
  • Track and incorporate industry sales and product trends
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of sales leadership experience
  • 3+ years of cannabis industry experience
  • Knowledge of California cannabis rules and regulations at the state, regional and local levels
  • Contracts and negotiation experience
  • Personnel management experience
  • Start-up and/or hyper-growth mode experience
  • Strong management and customer relations skills
  • Comfortable and excited to work in a fast-paced and quickly evolving startup environment
  • Process oriented, focused on continuous improvement
  • Ability to dynamically manage workload allocation of the team
  • Awareness of industry trends

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in Business Administration or related field strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages the California dispensary sales team and is responsible for the performance management and ongoing growth of the sales organization.

Work Environment

This job operates in various environments including professional office, customer retail settings and warehouse/manufacturing environment.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. The successful candidate will have an exemplary work ethic with the capacity to model same and lead a rapidly growing organization.


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel should be expected.
